A Guide to adult blogging

So you wanted to start your adult blog… or you already have started it and you wonder what to do next. Anyway, whatever is your situation, we want to help you a bit by giving you some basics about (adult) blogging.

What is blogging

Blog is short for ‘weblog’, and a blog is a kind of journal someone keeps about something he or she is interested in. The difference between a blog and a ‘general’ website. One of the most important reasons is the way a blog is organized : instead of all kinds of separate pages, a blog is organized as a chronological list of individual postings. A single piece of written information, we call a post.

Apart from the organisation of the information (chronological) there are also some other important features every modern blog nowadays should have :

  • Posts can be organized in individual categories and/or tags
  • You can choose the way a blog looks by selecting a ‘theme’
  • The information in your blog is accessible via a feed protocol like ATOM or RSS
  • Old posts are ‘archived’.

When you want to start blogging there are two options : either you start your own bloggingsite (that means, renting hosting capacity, installing a blogging program and maintaining it yourself) or you select one of the many blogging-hosting companies. However, if you want to start with adult blogging (meaning, blogging intended for an 18+ audience and with a strong erotic or pornographic theme), you have a problem : most of the current blogginghosts do not allow nudity in their blogging sites. Starting your own adult blog

Ok, let’s say you know about what you blog has to be. Now there are two other important things to think about : your blogname and the name for your subdomain.

The blogname has to be ‘catchy’ in some way : ‘My Pornblog’ isn’t likely to attract many people… just be playfull with the main theme of your site and try to find some nice, catchy name for your blog. You can change it later if you would like to, but well, better start right from the beginning.

The name of your subdomain you can’t change, so be carefull in selecting it. In the most ideal situation, your subdomain and your blogname have similar names : so a blog named Be Sexual with a subdomain besexual.adultblogcenter.com is a good combination, a site with a name like ‘Lovely Lesbians’ and a subdomain like porn.adultblogcenter.com is a quite bad combination.

Ok… so now you have your blog name, your subdomain and you surely have an email address… so you can get started registering your site : Just go to http://adultblogcenter.com/wp-signup.php, fill in the data and press the button. And now you have your own blog. Easy wasn’t it ?
